This year it started out with the snake dance on Thursday evening. Midst the cheering of the students, the snake dance wound down Grand Avenue to the West Side Market Square. Friday afternoon there was a pep assembly. That night, the Rapids Pager COMING Red Raiders won the game from a weak Marshfield team. After the game, there was a dance with music by the Squires. Soon, the joys of the game were intermingled with those of the, dance. The alumni were wel- comed back, and the gala homecoming of '50 turned out to be a huge success. s t i The Cf01l'lliIIg ,V 6 F xf ' THE TEAM is BETWEEN H ALVES' PEP I A IN ACTION - Y T uw- 144 ix 1' , Q .'1 THE DANCE W' A 1 A' ' my Af N 4 ,. xfq, I - , X ' 1 , X We W: x xg. Although not as well known as the other school organizations, its work especially shines at such affairs as the Homecoming Dance, the annual Christmas Concert, and the Prom. Various other or- ganizations owe much to the Art Club for posters, programs, etc, During the year the members have taken up special projects that interested them. Any- one in school, regardless of his ability as an artist, is eligible to belong. The club president is Don Swanson and the capable faculty advisor is Mr, Ruud. Meetings are held once a month, at which time there is usually a speaker on hand to tell of the customs, tnlditions, and phases of life in France. This year the French Club held a Christmas dinner in the school cafeteria. The food that was served was es- pecially characteristic of the people in France, as well as the menu and program. Officers of the club in- cluded: Ken Purdy, presidentg Jeanette Gill, vice- president, and Sally Dickerman, secretary. LIBRARY CLUB 'U' Students enrolled in elementary and advanced library classes are eligible to join the Library Club. Meetings are held twice each month - one after school and another one in the evening. This year its members strove to earn five hundred points. They were able to earn these points by putting in hours after school working in the library, making posters, and helping with other odd jobs to make Miss Lautenbach's job a little easier. The officers for the year were: President - Arlamae Jensen, Vice- pres- ident - Virginia Kenney, Secretary - Donnajean Proc tor, and Treasurer - Irene Haasl.
