Serving as mediator between the faculty and students, the Student Council is the most important progressive organization in Lincoln High School. A representative group under the faculty supervision of Miss Frances Nairn, the council is composed of thirteen members of the student body. Twelve are elected each year while the vice- president of the recedin year becomes president thus taking Office automatically. ihteresteg in the work ot other councils throughout the state, four Lincoln high delegates traveled to Sheboygan, Octo- ber 20 to attend the two day Wisconsin State Student Council con- venion. Our local organization was host to the annual district con- vention, April 28. Besides their regular Wednesday morning meet- ing, the council carried out their routine work for the year including the elections, Homecoming management, enforcement of hall or- dinance, the winter noon hour program, and the necessary court sessions. Organized for the purpose of training individuals in the pattern of American democratic principles, the Student Council endeavors to solve all their problems in the manner set forth by their community, state, and national governments. Responsibility, initiative, perseverance, and leadership are among the qualities ot character acquired from an organization such as the Student Council. ,R-x
