Now Miss Nairn has charge of this pro- gressive group which is composed of two elected members from each class plus the class presidents. This organization proves to be an excellent train- ing center for citizens in a democracy in that students learn good judgment, ability to assume responsibilities, and initiative. The Student Coun- cil maintains order in the halls by having volun- teered students patrol the hall each mornng and noon. The Student Council has also carried on a noon hour program with a variety of things to do like dancing, basketball, ping pong, and mov- ies. To add to its success of this year the Council has created the General Assembly. The purpose of this assembly is to give aid and advice to the Student Council as to what the students themselves would like to have done. General Assembly mem- bers are elected from every group of thirty-five and are elected for a term of one semester.
