The parade took off at 5:30 and wound its way around Mechanicsville ending up at the elementary school for the annual pep rally. The 1986 King and Queen were announced at this time. Teresa Hasselbusch was crowned queen and Chad Gadke was crowned king. The excitement of Homecoming week came to a close Saturday night at the annual Homecoming dance with music provided by Q103. The official crowning of the king and queen took place at the beginning of the dance. This year’s Junior-Senior Prom was held on May 9th at the Hi-Way Gardens in Stanwood. The banquet began with a terrific meal of ham or roast beef and many other delicious side servings. Instead of the traditional reading of wills and prophecies, a reminiscence of the good ‘ole days was read. After this everyone started dancing uight away to the music of 93.9 KRNA. Finally the night came to a close and all who wished to attend, went to Las Vegas Night, a project planned by a parental committee. After gambling for a couple of hours, the whole crowd was entertained by hypnotist Jim Wand. About fifteen people were f 1otized, which kept everyone rolling with laughter.
