As you are walking down the halls at Lincoln and hear a strange noise, don’t be alarmed ... it’s only the computer being used by the seventh and eighth grade math classes, algebra, advanced math I and II, and col- lege prep math. They use it to solve mathematical pro- blems by writing in programs. Presently, our terminal is hooked up to a base com- puter in Cedar Rapids, Grantwood Agency. ‘ Career Information Service of Iowa” is used by the counseling department to provide junior and senior high school students with current information on 290 ” aad jobs commonly performed by lowans. Lincoln Community School has purchased an Apple Il computer and is presently developing a library of soft- ware dises to use in guidance, counseling, and in mathematics. The computer hookup with Grant Wood will be terminated on May 1, 1981. The printer will be used with the Apple II for printed matter that students wish to save. Problem projects will be viewed on a TV = The apple II computer is an important tool in the é ve . . . aT MS WA technological field of computer programming. The com- puter is also used for students to collect information on On to state . . . | wonder if there is a seat left. ‘ ; careers stored on discs as they plan their future. So that the studyhall people could have something to drink that was noncarbonated, a juice machine was purchased by the student council. (Vitamin C anyone?) Let’s push this one and see happens.
