Mini Courses ran throughout the week of March 14-18. lowa weather, being as it is, questioned the minds of many as they set out each day. It held good though till the end of the week, when the raindrops began to fall, drenching the daring who braved the outdoors in various courses. The hikers, fishermen, and horsebackriders, were safe because their courses fell early in the week, but the tale of the campers and canoers was a different story. There were those who didn't have to worry either way, taking courses at the school such as candlemaking, shirtpainting, and ping pong. Then there were those who tried improving their skills at bowling, rollerskating, and miniature golf, the latter of which spent an hour and a half sitting in the bus along Highway 30. But a special tribute goes out to those thirty students who bicycled 254 miles into southern Iowa and back.

FFA Sweetheart Dance Surprises, Surprises, that's what the FFA Sweetheart Dance is all about. This year we really had some smart looking girls to represent the Lincoln Chapter. The candidates were Denise Cook, Tammy Thomson, and Carol Pruess. This year we had one girl, Cindy Hay, from Olin since the Lincoln Chapter consists of both schools. On the night of February 26, about 10 o'clock, Tom Poduska introduced the candidates and their escorts. The moment was about to happen . Carol Pruess was chosen as the '77-'78 Sweetheart. Carol was given her jacket and one dozen red roses. Left to right bottom - Dan Driscoll, Denise Cook, President Jeff Odeen, '76-'77 Sweetheart Kaylene Jilovec, Tammy Thomson, Dennis Coppess.
