The highlights of the season of course, would be the second Conference title in a row for the Panthers, and the third in the seven year history of the conference. The undefeated season would stand-out as the second major goal of the 73 squad, and this was also accomplished by the Junior Varsity squad. Coming from behind three times to win the Midland game shows the ability of this team to never say die. The team very seldom lost its poise and always showed great sportsmanship in winning; never belittling its opponents while winning, but respecting them for their ability to play the game. The team was very coachable, never displayed jealousies, never looked for the easy way out but always did what was asked of them. So our hats are off to you, the Panthers of 1973. 28 Sponsored by: Yoder Feeds and Funks G Hybrids, Stanwood, 945-6661

1973 Marching Band The 1973 Marching Band, shown in formation, had some new attractions this year. They had an honor guard, a color guard, and also a new band director, Mr. Meyer. They had some great times, like attending the Oelwein Band Festival, marching in parades, and in Clinton on Halloween night, plus doing a fantastic job at our games. It wasn't all fun and games though, they had to get up pretty early to make practice at 7:00 in the morn- ing. They practiced long and hard to make their season the success it was. Our 1973 band gave our school great reflections. The members are: Susan Albaugh, Kerin Andrew, LeAnne Bohr, Sharon Bohr, Galen Brendes Bill Broulik, Dale Broulik, Mark Broulik, Susan Broulik, Scott Brunscheen, Julie Cole, Brent Coppess, Dawn Coppess, Mark Coppess, Janis Crist, Alice Crock, Carol Crock, John Crock, Marcia Crock, John Grunder, Lisa Hatcher, Rhonda Hegarty, Kathy Hor man, Vicki Hoy, Joe Hunt, Tammy Jensen, Tom Jewell, Kaylene Jilovee, Julie Johnson, Julie Kirstein, Lori Kleppe, Don Koch, Anna Kohl, Dan Kohl, Sam Kohl, Donna Krumroy, Anne Kuehnle, John Kuehnle, Terry Kurth, James Lawson, John Licht, Craig McDowell, Frosty Meyer, Wendy Miller, Bill Mindham, Jay Moffit, John Moneypenny, Kathy Moravek, Linda Odeen, Kris Oxley, Matt Pohlhamous, Linda Robinson, Chris Ropa, Debbie Sauer, Jack Sauer, Jane Sauer, Jeff Schnipkoweit, Dennis Sorenson, Kathy Spear, Kris Spear, Kym Spear, Denise Steckly, Diane Steckly, Janice Studer, Joy Svoboda, Gary Taylor, Gerald Timm, Joe Umbdenstock, Adrianne Wagner, Cindy Weber, Teresa Weber, Betty Weiland, Gary Whitman, Mike Whitman, Kent Williams, Lori Williams. at 5 6.
