“A Piece Of Our Lives” 1973 Lincoln Community School Stanwood - Mechanicsville, lowa In the autumn of nineteen hundred and seventy-two, a group of Lincoln students came together to work on a book of memories. Realizing that thoughts of the past are best remembered as happy times, they hoped to record the good times and happiness that came through meeting new people and learning new ideas. Now, as the summer of nineteen hundred and seventy- three draws near, we can say that we have done all we hoped to do. Our annual is complete. The story now closes on the class of seventy-three. Some will laugh, some will cry, and some will be happy as they move on to the new world of college. To all of them, no matter what their personal feelings and plans, it is important they remember one thing: as the year ends and high school finally is over, it marks not so much the beginning of the end as it is, instead, the end of the beginning.
