Zearing Our Swiss Cheese Adam Hertelendy Of the memories of the school year 1970-1971, the one that will hold a special place in the hearts of everyone at Lincoln is that of our foreign exchange student; 18-year-old Adam Hertelendy. Adam came from Zurich, Switzerland, a stranger to the hectic American way of life, but he immediately captured the hearts of every inhabitant of the two small Iowa towns with his sharp wit and warm friendliness. The senior class had not the privilege but the honor of sharing their most memorable school days with Adam. Adam stayed only a year and, although we will miss him, his amiable character will live on within those who knew him best, and we will hope to see him again when he returns to America.
