The 1947 BOARD OF EDUCATION To the average student who comes to school every day, studies, and goes home in the evening, the thought never occurs of what makes the school run smoothly, and function systematically. The answer to this is the Board of Education. On the second Monday of every month there is a meeting to plan the school's programs, select the faculty, and pay the bills. These meetings are called Board Meetings, and the men prsent are known as the Board of Education. These men are selected by your mothers and fathers to direct the schools that are provided for by their taxes. They meet with Mr. Handlin who carries out the proposed programs. One of the latest considerat- ions of the Board is the possibility of making an addition to the school building. Because of build- ing supply shortages this plan is still in the blue- print stage, but it may someday become a reality. And if it does, it will be through the efforts of the Board of Education.
