THE LINCOLNITE FOREWORD Page Six 1946 FOREWORD As peace is once again restored and we are striving for a better world, the class of 1946 present this yearbook. Pleasant memories come to mind as we think back over the last four years. The last basket and the first touchdown; the marching of the band and the merry voices of the glee clubs; the plays and readings were only a few of the exciting events during these four years of diligent effort. Although we have had our fun and play we must pause and think of those who have fought for our peace and prosperity. We must also stop and pay tribute to those who have given their lives in the line of duty. We would not be living in a quiet peaceful America if it were not for our fighting forces. We, the class of '46 wish to thank the faculty and Mr. Handlin for their fine guidance and to wish success and good luck to the underclassmen and the future classes of LCHS.
