H 'Z ,f If M I if 5 ccmouing On H 3 43 009 .L Here at Lincoln College we have such a wide variety of people who bring with them their unique personalities and insights into life. Lincoln helps you to be on your own and also to help you mingle with people of your peers and of your elder. We all have our own attitudes and liking of certain things, but we were willing to let each other express their's with an open mind. As the Sophomores move on and up to different schools and states we will always remember all of the great memories that Lincoln has left us with. We all became very close and expressed many, many things to each other which will be kept forever. The friendships that were formed will be forever bonded and shared for a long time. The Freshmen were all new to the college scene expressing certain things and questioning so many other items also - now as they move on and up to the Sophomore level they will be running the show, and feeling a whole year older. They won't have any shoes to fill because Lincoln College doesn't believe in that, but they encourage you to be yourself. The Freshmen this year were outstanding in their talent and for their personalities. An education is not just books and classesg it is people and experiences that you encounter. All of the students this year had the experiences of student Fi.A.'s and for this program being implemented by Jim Turley and Trish Sughroe. The students didn't have a utopian atmosphere where everything was run so perfectly, but they enjoyed their way of living. Whatever there is to remember about your Lincoln College tenure, you will remember it forever. As we move on we leave to you the total glow of friendliness that Lincoln College has left on us. The scars of greatness are now only memories, but because of Lincoln we will prosper from them. As we move on we will always look back on our Lincoln College years and see how they have helped our futures. The staff would like for you to enjoy this prepared yearbook and wish the outgoing Sophomores the best of everything as they move on to higher positions in their lives, Juniors. Mrs. Bloch is the type of teacher that expresses such a warmth and open feeling whenever you talk with her and when she is instructing her classes. Mrs. Bloch represents a terrific teacher and a true friend. With her on Lincoln CoIlege's faculty it is such a positive influence. When people meet Mrs. Bloch they soon become aware of changes in themselves and they become more confident and more aware of the world around them. They mature with her knowledge and it shows as they move on to other things in life. She is also admired by so many here at Lincoln for always being there for people. She is such a professional instructor and a perfect friend. Many often wonder where we would be without Mrs. Bloch, who acts as a liaison for our parents who are far away yet so close. Mrs. Bloch is a very special friend to many. She comes into people's lives offering happiness with caring underneath, it is so easy to talk with her about things that sometimes are hard, and about things that you wouldn't share with yourself. Whenever people are in need of a kind word, a gentle touch or a reassuring look, she is there. Your caring ways and your way of saying you matter to me. In times of trouble, your eyes express exactly what people need to hear. When people are happy your smile says exactly how they eel. Since people have met you and have had the honor to enjoy your charisma, people become more positive and willing to accept others. The yearbook staff is honored to present this to you Mrs. Bloch, your empathy for students and people is incredible. I hope you continue your good natured spirit along with your superb personality. - The Yearbook Staff .leclicafiona I 2 5 5 s Our acknowledgements for continued support and help go out to these distinct helpful staff members. Tom Zurkammer, our sponsor, has given us the en- couragement and leadership for us to be on our own and also for us to make the decisions and to see them executed. Tina Smith and Joyce Geary have always been our buddies for everything that we needed from them. They both have showed us so many things to do with what we have at Lincoln College. Whenever we needed anything they always did it with a smile. The bookstore staff has always been there for charg- es and for help with supplies throughout the year. Betty, Linda, and Nancy, along with their staff were terrific. We would like to thank each and everyone of you for all of your support and for your insights and help throughout the year. Running a yearbook takes so much help and with your help we will be able to move up in our lives and to be successful. Stiff: OUT OF STATE STUDENTS Lincoln College yearbook has decided to do a special page on out of state students coming to Illinois for their education experience. We have such a wide variety of people attending Lincoln, not just native Illinois persons but New Yorkers, Pennsylvanians, Californians, Missourians and many other states included. This year there were 20 out of state students which averaged 150!o of the population on campus here at Lin- coln. As they move on to different states, some returning to their home states and some re- maining her in Illinois, they will always remem- ber their Lincoln College experience. .fg?icaLerzf Csl2fQ2 1?l 22 Sfudenf ,life CRGANIZATICNS Organizafiona 23 . Under the close supervision of Rick Johnson, Jim Turley, Trish Sughroe and Allen Pickering, the program got off the ground. They were able to iron out the rough spots, along with deciphering what was needed and what needed to be changed. Overall the students felt more relaxed in the residence halls along with having more peer contact with the student resident assistants. This year the student R.A.'s did a very good job with peer pressure and making quick judgemental decisions, they changed the atmosphere for everyone and they did a great job helping students move up towards Iife's expectations and for their future. Now that the book is finished and everyone has had the chance to read it, we would like to thank everyone for their support throughout these 2 years. Putting a yearbook together takes a lot of time and help. There are so many people that have helped us put this together and we really appreciated it. The yearbook staff has carefully arranged it so you would enjoy looking over the pictures and remembering some very fond memories of your Lincoln College years. Many memories are formed at such a small school and a closeness of friendships are also bonded. We would like to wish everyone the best of happiness, luck, and health for their futures. As everyone moves on we hope your memories are cherished of Lincoln College. Larry Perez John P.
