COME SPRINGTIME, we all came outside again, to roll and stroll in the campus grove, to join the track team down by the creek on a Friday or Saturday night, or to park in front of Hoyle and tip a few. When it got hot, we caught rays on the soccer field, watched intramural softball or varsity baseball, or drove down Nicholson Road to the favorite drinking spot. It was the year of the heads, when pot was available to the masses, and passing the joints became more important than passing courses. Every- body had long hair, the guys had mustaches, beards and long sideburns. Instead of waving to a friend, you raised two fingers in a peace sign, and on Saturday night getting stoned took on a new meaning. Val Ward the voice of the black dramatist Hang Confeld was a feature raised a few temperatures during the Black speaker of the Spring Lyceum Symposium sponsored by Seminar Program -Jil! 1 - 'M 20

2 E ' .. i af W 8.1 A fn? w In a brilliant windup to the school year, Lincoln College was honored by graduation attendance of both the governor and lieutenant governor of the state of Illinois. In addition, the ambassador-designate to Japan, and an LC graduate, Armin Meyer, was main Q5 speaker. Governor Richard Ogilvie and Lieutenant Governor Paul Simon flank LC President Raymond Dooley, while Ambassador Meyer is at left. Mr. Meyer told the largest graduating class in history how impor- tant world relations are to this country.
