Peter Jennings, well known ABC television news correspon- dent, spoke to a student audience as part of the Lyceum program. WE HAD MORE than a month of freedom during the winter when the school coupled seasonal holidays with Spring break to give us an unprecedented amount of vacation. Some students, however, chose to attend the college's first intersession. From skin diving in Florida to skiing in Aspen to learning about folk music on the campus or computers at Argonne, the inter- session was a big success.

FOR A WHILE the entire campus was worrying about the Dean's controversial paid informers, and about that time, too, Student Senate was rocked by impeachment proceedings against its vice president. He lost an all-school vote of confidence and resigned at the next Senate meeting. In November Jim Springer, alias the Cave Man, was chief auctioneer at a slave market, in which some mighty juicy slaves were auctioned off. A large crowd in the gymnasium took in the bidding and enjoyed the fun.
