Business, Math Are Paths to Future Leaders A variety of courses for future businessmen are in the catalog, including accounting, business law, bookkeeping, and business management. For the prospective office manager, shorthand and typing courses are invaluable. Mathematics courses are well chosen, with basic arith- metic, through college algebra, calculus and trigonometry. All in all, the fundamental skills are available for the businessmen and scientists of tomorrow. Finally, in the field of economics, there is a one- year sequence designed to de- velop a basic understanding. MR. JOHN LAUER Economics I8 Career Day Brings Top Businessmen to Campus As a project of the Par- ents' Council, and under the auspices of Mr. Thomas Bartel of Geneva, the first annual Career Day was an eventful success May 5, Eleven midwest business executives held group meet- ings, followed by panel dis- cussions, in as many fields of interest. Keynote speaker was Rod- ney B. Lundy of Naperville, trustee of the college, while those who participated were Mr. Bartel, Vaughn Bennion, transportation, Milton Bryce, data processing, Jean Clark, fashions, Fillmore Galaty, real estate, Ross Pilling, advertis- ing, P.A. Mack, financing, Ed- ward Mertz, production, Ed- ward Mosher, retailing, Janet Ricketts, secretarial.

Remedial English and reading, as well as basic composition draw strict atten- tion from our students, for these they must pass or find another home. Advanced work is offered in British and American literature, as well as Shakespeare, creative writing, journalism, and dramatics.
