'Taking o Chance On Love' Autumn was a season for fading flowers but blooming romances. Many-hued leaves, blanketing our campus, hailed the advent of Indian Summer. With this bewitching season came Harvest Holiday, the annual fall dance. Burton House was the host for the pre - dance coketail parties,Joe Dean supplied the music and we furnished the happy couples. Pictured at the Harvest Holiday dance are, left to right, Andy Hutchin son, Barbara Perlman, guest Sherry Jamison, and Lee Davis. 1 Harvest Holiday creates smiles . . . and weary feet! Sitting this dance out are these five couples, left to right: Chuck Thompson and Marion Williams, Bob Sherman and Jeanne Loewenau, John Best and Terry Schuler, Chuck Kandlik and Linda Nicholson, and David Potts and Nancy Jones. 7

We Come, We Ate, We Conquered ,ya--' The L. C. sardines set a new record. It was a year like all years-- which is one way of saying that it was something special, special be- cause we shared it. Pictured in these pages are some of the memories we now share. Our fun-loving students started the year by gorging themselves . . . and a helpless telephone booth. Friendships were made at the annual school barbeque and, as indicated above, watermelon was a popular dessert. Before buckling down to the in- evitable studies, a group of mis- chievous freshmen packed them- selves into a nearby telephone booth. To make their victory complete, they called a Chicago disk jockey to happily report the crushing re- sults.

Olympics Tests Limbo Limberness Terry Ryan crowns Jeanne Loewenau queen of the 1961 Olympic Games. The Lincoln College Olympic Games got off to a fiery start with a torch lighting ceremony starting at Olin-Sang dormitory and ending, quite warmly, at the gymnasium. Jeanne Loewenau, sophomore from Downers Grove, reigned as queen of the two-day event. Vir- tually everyone on campus partici- pated either individually or as a dormitory group in the annual ath- letic contest. Forsythe Hall had the top men's team and Burton House won the women 's competition. Jill Hunt bends over backwards to become the new limbo champion at the Olympics. Amused judges are, left to right, Tom Thomson, Bill Schulhof and Sally Ruby, 8
