FOREWORD One hundred years ago Abraham Lincoln was elected to the presidency. His strong character and firm leadership guided the Union through one of its darkest peri- ods, saving it from permanent dissolution. Lincoln's firm belief in the Union and in the innate goodness of man enabled him to plan a just program for the Union. His actions opened a place for him in the hearts of his fellow men the world over. To the editors of the Lynxite it seems alto- gether fitting and proper to use a Lincoln theme in the yearbook of the only college named for Lincoln while he was still alive. 3

DEDICATION .... ,,,, 4 , Mrs. Sam Hill. . . Girl's Physical Education Instructor and head of Lincoln College social program . . . Mrs. Hill organizes most of the dances and weekend events, such as Fall Barbeque, Girl's Football, and other sports activities. She is also the advisor of Student Council and Student Senate. Mrs. Hill has added all the help and spirit needed to make Lincoln College's social program a success. Her blond hair, blue eyes, win- ning smile, and friendly manner has made her one of the most popular members of the faculty. In appreciation, we dedicate to her the 1960 Lynxite. 4
