Felix Mitchell, junior, makes use of the card catalog in the Resource Center. Studying hard in Mrs. Cosette Kelly’s Language Development class are sophomores Marlene Hardin, Roo- sevelt Rambo, Cynthia Wilson, Jody Craddock, David McDonald and Tony Milton. encuSScince The school year was filled with many rebirths that affected the student body and faculty members as well. There were a lot of teachers laid off and new ones shipped in. “Many students were dis- couraged because of that but hung in there anyway,” said Leona Conway, junior. Dean William Rowan felt that an organization should have no more than one on-school-time activity a semester. “I felt that was not enough to keep the students motivated and spirited,” said Billy Hale, junior. Dean Rowan also expected the students to get more involved in various activities and tasks but didn’t allow enough time for students to complete the goals he set. Mr. Leo Wright, Bu- ilding Manager, said, “Students are writing on the walls more this year than before in markers that won’t come off by using just a little comet. You have to paint over the writing.” But Mr. Wright did have one good thing to say about the school year. “The students seem to get along much better than they did last year. There weren’t very many fights.” Tracye Gee 4 Opening
