YEARBOOK GREETING TO CLASS OF 1968 This year the Kansas City School District is observing the 100th Anniversary of the establishment of the Kansas City School System. Lincoln High School at the same time, is observing the 83rd Anniversary of its opening and the dedication of the new Towers on the south side of the present structure - a symbol of progress. I congratulate the seniors who have had some part in creating a good image of Lincoln High and have had some experience in the new area of the Castle On The Hill. Many changes have taken place in education to make quality education possible for all pupils. You have been the recipients of the benefits of the Elementary and Secondary School Acts, which has made it possible to receive equipment and materials of learning which are used to make the obtaining of knowledge easier and raise the cultural level of our school group. As you browse through the 1968 Lincolnian in the years ahead, many memories of activities here at Lincoln High will be recalled as great moments that will live in your lives forever. Each area of activities in the 1968 Yearbook will hold special interest for those students who make this year's Annual a historical document. Here in the pages of this book will be found the summaries of many events and activities of this Centennial year in the 83rd year of Lincoln High School. To this end, we dedicate the new Towers of The Castle On The Hill with the hope that all will look with admiration and respect on this institution of learning which is dedicated to the future progress in the arena of educational activity. Best of luck in the years that lie ahead. Harry I. Harwell Principal 9
