SENIOR OFFICERS LEFT TO RIGHT: Jewel Hogan, Edmund Hughes, Micheal Weddington, Ronald Horn-President. Seniors Bid Adieu to Lincoln Four years have rolled by and now we stand on the threshold of graduation. However, it seems only yesterday that we entered the doors of the Castle on the Hill. While we look forward to com- mencement with eagerness, we look back- ward with nostalgia. Memories of frightened, bewildered freshmen still remain with us. We, like all new freshmen everywhere, found it difficult to adjust to new surroundings in a large high school. This natural state passed quickly because our teachers were friendly and helpful. Adaptation paved the way for whole- hearted participation in school activities outside the classroom. As sophomores we joined clubs, played sports and won honors for ourselves and Lincoln. We inaugurated the Sophomore Hop . During our junior and senior years we increased participation in clubs, or- anizations, sports and cultural activities, udy House won an excellent award in the annual Science Fair. And for two con- secutive years, Patricia Patrick won first place in the American Legion Oratorical Contest. Five girls became members of the 110 Girls Club; eleven of us were inducted into the National Honor Society. The Junior-Senior play was exceptionally good and the Junior-Senior prom was unforgettable. Seniors played an import- ant part in defeating Rosedale High School on the televised program Categories . We could go on and on but we have learned to be modest. Modesty does not prevent our giving fifteen cheers for the class of '63, fifteen cheers for the faculty and fif- teen cheers for Lincoln High School. 20
