This, my last message to you, through the pages of the Lincolnian, is one of hope and challenge for the future. At no time in the history of civilization has there been more opportunity for work for men and women of competence and integrity. Any person who does his job well with efficiency and skill can find employment, provided he has the personal qualifications to merit selection by an employer. This is particularly true of jobs requiring intelligence and or skill. For nearly 45 years it has been my joy and pleasure to serve the youth and their parents of this community. I shall miss the challenge of helping young minds and personalities grow and develop. I leave the schoolroom for a new challenge and an opportunity to serve. I shall miss the bright eyes and eager faces of youth, but I sincerely believe the new challenge I now have accepted will be beneficial to a larger segment of our city. So while I regret leaving close friends, 1 am intrigued and challenged by a new and greater opportunity. I also look forward to an even greater Lincoln High School under a new administrator. 10 Earl D. Thomas
