gfdctofzq The year l9h2, found four girls and one boy beginning their schooling at Lime Springs. Of these five, Verna Mc- Caustland is the only one to complete her twelve years of study here. In the year 1951 twelve students became ugreenhorns.n The members of that class were: Roger Eergan, Wayne Smith, Eugene Stevenson, Ronald Ribbeck, Kay Rembold, Iva Tibbals, Marian Williams Mary Mahan Dale Hart Lyle Schutte, Melva Jones and Verna McCaustland Later that year Jack Decker and Dorothy Weis joined the class Outstanding events dur ina this year were the one act plays, the school carnival and homecoming Kay Rembold was chosen as our homecoming queen candidate The following year eleven members enrolled as anxious sophmores Lyle Schutte, Roger Bergan, and Ronald Ribbeck dropped out This year we had the privilege of initiating the poor freshmen When the class enrolled as Juniors its membership had dropped to eight During the year Darlene Snow joined the class This year proved to be a very big one, for they pre sented a class olav and honored the seniors at the Junior Senior banquet Just as every student who enters high school dreams of becoming a senior, this class was no exception At the be ginnins o' this year Betty Decker enrolled in the class to make an even ten two boys and eight girls Probably the most important events of the year were the day spent in Mason City getting their pictures taken,the class play nI'm a Family Crisis the lonp day at Veishea, Dale Hart and Dorotny Weis chosen as carnival Kina and Queen, the visit to the 'Stork Clubf and the most important of all, baccalau reate and commencement Sometimes we thought the going tough, but looking back over these past twelve years, they seem to be very wonderful ones l I I , V I ' A .3 ' - . xl A - ' .u . -cg 215' X I May 21, 2000 What Cheer, Alaska Q Dear Betty, b Having seen Verna the other day, she gave me all the latest news on our classmates back at L S So I decided to pass it on to you She told me about you and Galen getting married and moving to a farm in the Cypress Gardens in Flor ida I admire you bein authe farm since that seems to be an ideal spot to raise the twelve children you now have As I was watching TV yesterday I happened to get a wres tlin meet and to mv mnprisel saw Verna receiving the Women! horld Championship trophy She had just finished p1nn'ng Bushmaster from Australia As you remember she used to like wrestling quite well Verna told that she had read In a newspaper about Melva being a dancing star in Ralph Flann1gan's newest show Remember how Dale and Dorothy used to come hmflying low car which enables Dorothy to commute from L S to Hollywood for her daily rehearsals in her current movie 'Life in the 1950's Since Dorothy is gone most of the time Dale keeps the home fires burning by caring for their nine children and their thousand acre ranch As I was reading the nwhat Cheer Tribune this evening I saw Darlene's name in the headlines I was rather shocked at the time for I didn't know she had actually become a po licewoman I do recall she had often yearned for that occu pation In the article it said that l most wanted man in the world here ed a large picture of her she had captured the No in What Cheer It show receiving the medal Kay's mice have made She is now the sole owner Mouse Village in Algiers, her quite and operator of the Chester White Africa famous at thepresent time.
