SWIMMING This year's Spartan swim team had the best balance in the history of swim- ming at Lima Senior High. It was probably the best team ever, although it lacked a great number of super stars. After a slow start losing four meets away from home, the splashing Spartans won seven in a row avenging two of the defeats by beating Springfield and Findla . The climax of the season came in the state meet at Columbus where Lima placed eighth and established a new state record. This made the fourth year in a row that Senior High has placed in the top ten, and the third year that a Lima swimmer has established or tied a state record. Graduating seniors are Tom Friend, breast-strokerg john Schulz, diver, Don Sparrow, distance free styleg David Thompson, back stroke, and Steve Wilt, free butterfly and backstroke.
