FUTURE BUSINESS LEADERS OF AMERICA Purposes of the organization are: to develop busi- ness leadership, to strengthen confidence in one's work, to participate in cooperative effort, to en- courage improvement in scholarship, to promote school loyalty and to help establish students in business. This year our projects included selling school stationery, working concessionsg and providing food and clothing at Thanksgiving, and Christmas. The group took field trips to The Better Business Bureau and also saw slides of the Worldis Fair. Our programs included guest speakers and de- monstrations of Office Equipment. Members attend- Wf if iglm ed district meetings, state conventions and national conventions. The National Convention 1963 is to be held in Dallas, Texas. FBLA is a national organization sponsored by the United Business Education Association, a depart- ment of the National Education Association. THE STAGE CREW The stage crew consists of a group of boys who are interested in learning the duties of managing a stage. Some of the duties are operating the Complex lighting system, curtain arrangements, and spotlighting and sound effects. Some of the members must be present each time the stage and auditorium are used. This involves many evenings and often Saturdays and Sundays as well as dur- ing the school week. ROW 5: Cathy Morris. jean Darnell. Margaret Toitch. FUTURE TEACHERS OF AMERICA The purpose of our Future Teachers of America Club is to learn more about the opportunities in the teaching profession. During the school year 1962-63, our club has had many projects to raise money for our F.T.A. scholarship. The projects were, coat check for National Education Association Conference, sale of Concessions at our Basketball game, bake sale and sale of corsages for the May Day Dance. Throughout the year the girls in the club supervise children at elementary schools. Our club was also fortunate to have many guest speakers this year, a student from Ohio State University, Miss Howey, Dean of Girls, Central Junior High, and a group of Bluffton College Students. The membership is open to any student in grades ten to twelve, who is interested in teaching and who has the necessary qualities of scholarship, character, and leadership. The officers of the club are Jeannie Collins, President, Suzanne Seitz, Vice Presidentg Sherrill Flick, Secretary, Sandra Sykes, Treasurerg and Stanley Bogdan advisor. -ll5--
