OFFICERS: ADVISOR: STUDENT COUNCIL An elected group of boys and girls Working together for the welfare of the school. Discussing ways to eliminate school problems: promoting social activities: and improving school sportsmanship are only a few of the projects undertaken by the council. Through the council, the student body has a voice in the happenings of the school. Every Tuesday in the council room. To become a council member requires only obtaining a petition, which in turn is filled out by fellow students. At a later date, an election is held and candidates are voted upon. It is a program whereby any girl who participates to any degree in any athletic activity after school is considered a G.A.A. member. Membership is divided into two classifications because of varied interests and the time element. WHY? To provide a program desirable and practical enough to be of value to every girl in the school. Its purpose is to promote good sportsmanship, perfect recreational and social skills, develop special abilities, increase ability to get along with and work with others, increase powers of self-direction and leadership, and enjoy physical activity as a medium for self-expression.
