The purpose of the Spartan Spotlight staff is to publish a monthly news- paper that highlights all school news activities and sports events and features stu- dent interviews, teen-age polls, and editorials. Because of the purchase of a printing press and a Vari-typer, this is the first year that the complete publishing process of the Spartan Spotlight has been handled at the school. All staff members take journalism at least twice a week. The Spartan Spotlight is affiliated with the Quill and Scroll Society, an in- ternational honorary organization for high school journalists. -109-
