Clam PVQDIQKQY After oeing out of High School for ten years, I decided to return to my home town of Lima and see how everyone was getting along This is the way things went As I drove down Main Street, I happened to see a familiar sight, a Chevy car oarked in front of a certain house It was Howard Sch1ll1nger's car, and remembering the fun I lsed to have kidding Howie about his girl, I stooped It was Howie alright He in formed me that he had enlarged his trucking business considerably He had just signed a contract allowing him to move the Golden Gate Bridge to New York Harbor I asked him about all the kids with whom we graduated, but before he could answer there was a screech of brakes and in zoomed an old school pal None other than Don Driscoll, the famous winner of the Indianarolis Soo mile race Howie told me how Don won the Soo mile classic with his 150 m p h average in his favorite car, nThe Flying As Howie and I drove around town, we saw Russ Davison Russ told as he was plan ning to vacation in Lima after his tour of the country Little did we realize that this was The Russell Davison, singing sensation of the co1ntry with his record'ng of 'Slow Poke , which sold one million conies As the three of us were talking, who should stroll up but Austin Stewart, a sergeant in the Foreign Legion Sergeant Stewart was decorated for saving a herd of starving camels, a heroic action beyond the call of ite meeting place, Pete's, for a double deluxe banana split Who should walk in but Shirley Beecher the new owner of the Hemlock Hayloft She invited us to attend the big graduation dance for all the nunils of the H520 graduating class As we were lingering over our ice cream, Howie told me of the other members of the class of '52 I was told that Carolyn LiFeber was just appointed secretary to J B Black, President of the General Motors For oration Incidently, Miss LiFeber was awarded a citation for honorary 'business woman' of the month While enjoy1ng nur ice cream, we discussed the promotion of Eunice Nowack and Marion Yorks to First Lieutenants in the WAF'S The girls recently returned to their Texas base after a tour of duty to Cocomo After finishing our banana splits, we went to How1e's home where a familiar voice came from the T V set It was Maryanna Carling who is winning many friends with her new show My Cift of Gabu, which she took over from Luella Parsons From Maryanna's program we learned that Irene Rogers had recently scored a hit due to her character part in MGM's latest WNo Good Wifen After hearing Maryanna's chatter, we turned the T V off, only to continue our discussion of the class of '52 Don Barrett, owner and manager of the Rochester Royals, is scheduling an exhibition game with the Harlem Clobetrotters Pat Whalen has returned to her San Fernando ranch after winning the K ntucky Derby with her famous horse Jigger II' Gayle Schillinger has iust taken over her new job as secretary to Doctor Einstein She presently is engaged in editing a Layman's Handbook on the Theory of Relati ity Rosemary Simmons is living very happily in her new home in Brighton She has just finished her new book, 'The Evils of Marriage Speaking of Brighton, Howie asked me how I was coming with my medical practice I told Howie that I returned to Brighton after graduation from the well known Yipahoopy Medical School Having spent the day together, we parted for home with refreshed memories of Lima High and the Class of 92 Howard Schillinger Ronald Gerhardt 17 w 1 . - . : . - I 2 y 9 38.n . . . . , . 9 N A I 5 V w duty, After reminiscing about the happy days in school, Howie and I went to our favor- to , , , Q o . 7 1 -J A e ' 1 n T 0 O 0 ' - I 0 e If A I .
