We don't feel as educated as we thought we would, and making our way in the adult world is a rather frightening idea, but ready or not, we're on our way. The past four years have, for the most part, been good ones. They have flown swiftly. It seems like only yesterday that we were freshmen. We can remember struggling over algebra, going to our first senior high dance, and feeling superior over the seventh and eighth graders because we could enter by the McDonel street door. Some of us took part in the Masqueraders Club, many in sports, with a few getting their letters. Leading the class were Andy Wilson, president, Ed Berthold, vice-president, Judy Yingling, secretary, and Don Romig, treasurer. It was a good beginning. Then we were sophomores. The novelty of being on the senior high side had worn off and we felt so worldly that coming in the front doors with the seniors didn't even faze us. We began to take a real part in school activities. Latin and geometry kept our noses to the grindstone, but such an inconvenience was balanced by the fact that we were represented in Senior A Cappella, varsity sports, music and drama groups, and taking larger responsibilities in the student government organizations. At the head of the class was Ed Berthold with Dick Shope as vice-president, Pat Martin as secretary, and Kay Patton as treasurer. Upperclassmen at last! Our junior year brings to mind a jumbled impression of football games, class rings, junior class play, basketball tournaments, and to top it all-the Prom. George Stephan was elected class president with Kay Patton, vice-president, Barbara jones, secretary, and Pat Martin, treasurer. Suddenly we were seniors! It was like a birthday, we didn't feel any different, but there we were. Breaking tradition, we chose a Queen with four attendants to reign over the Homecoming festivities. It didn't really dawn on us that we were doing everything for the last time until the night of the South- Central football game. One by one the activities slipped by us: basketball games, senior scholarship tests, Who's Who Dance, class party, class play, May Coronation, final assembly, class picnic, Prom, Baccalaureate, and then - Commencement! The senior class president was Frank Romakerg vice-president, Marjorie Roederg secretary, Karen Cogeng and treasurer, Marcia Hawver. Because of the senior five-home room plan, jerry Hauenstein, Ed Berthold, and Andy Wilson were also elected to the executive council. Well, as we said, it's all over. We're alumni now. But say, for all our griping, hasn't it been fun? IIII A-,J J 'lx Y X 5 2 U 0' 475 fi .gym 1 ig 5 xx w .
