Senior Football Lettermen These eighteen hard-fighting senior lettermen led Central's 1951 football team to one of its most successful seasons in many years. Beginning drills in late summer, the boys practiced every night after school, rain or shine. They spent many weary hours perfecting their blocking, tackling, passing, and run- ning. For many it was their sixth straight year of football at Central. Although every one of these boys will be hard to replace, they have set an example and a goal for all future Central gridders to attain. Rusler Any girl or boy who won a varsity letter in cheerleading, football, basketball, baseball, track, tennis, or golf automatically became a member of the C Association. Because of the high requirements to attain membership, this association could indeed be called an honor club. It required many hours of strenuous practice after school in ad- dition to keen competition in the various athletic groups to earn a varsity letter, which was the sole requirement for membership. The C Association's two big projects for the year were the selling of school supplies in the auditorium box office and their annual spring dinner-dance. Bob Moyer M123-

During the season Central made over three times as many points as its foes, scoring two hundred eighty-six points compared with the eighty- four points tallied by its opponents. The sports' Writers of Ohio shared the student body's opinion that Central had an out- standing football team. The Dragons won a high rating in the Associated Press Poll, and many of the team's members were voted to positions on the All-Ohio team. This meant that the coach wanted the re- serve team over on the varsity field for a scrimmage with the glory boys . Through these scrimmages the reserves developed the coordination of mind and body necessary in football. The reserve squad had a successful season this year, winning four and losing two games. A number of the team saw action in the varsity tilts. This experience will prove in- valuable to the boys when they reach the varsity squad. Iohn Sugarman -125-
