To the Class of 1952: As you look back over the past twelve years and reflect on your achievements. you sometimes wonder what you have gained. It is easy to analyze the results of an education in concrete terms. Perhaps it would be better to reflect the major highlights of things to come. and see if you are prepared to meet them. Do you understand lully the meaning of democracy and how to live it? Do you recognize that you must always carry your share in any community where you may live? You must keep strong the home, the church. and the school, as these are the primary assets in any democratic country. Morally you must be guided with a true knowledge that separates wrong from right. You must also have an under- standing of the true concept of sharing with others in order that they might share with you. To each of the seniors as citizens of this great land the heritage is yours to carry forth the torch of freedom for not only generations to come in this land but for peoples throughout the entire world. Twelfth Y-Teens President - - - Diane Iohnson - - - presides with dignity Vice-President - - Phyllis Hoeper - - sweet and lovely Secretary - - Annette Davison - - a very capable girl Treasurer - - - Ioan Angell - - - the trusted angel Sergeant-at-arms - - - Barbara Miller - - - - full of fun Inter-Club-Council Representative - Deanne Fields - the efficient reporter Advisor -------------- Miss Ethel Stiles The Senior Y-Teens was an organization of fifty senior girls. Its main theme was world service, which was demonstrated in many ways, such as donating candy bars, which were sent overseas, sending a basket of food to a needy family at Christmas, and helping to raise fifty dollars for World Fellowship. Do you remember the beautiful mums many girls wore to the South-Central football game? The members of the Senior Y-Teens sold these mums to the student body as their sole money-making project. The most interesting Y-Teen meeting, in which everyone participated, concerned voca- tions. At other gatherings the girls were shown movies pertaining to school and community service. Social events also entered into the club life of the Senior Y-Teens. The girls assisted the Y.W.C.A. in the Hanging of the Greens, in which they decorated the building for Christmas. For the first time in the history of the Y-Teens, the sponsors met with the club officers. At this meeting, which was in the form of a dinner, their projects for both the summer and national conventions were planned. Virginia Winget -105-
