DEAR LIUIS. V Four short years ago, the class of 1953 first made their way through Lillis doors as Lillisites. Very soon they will leave the security that these halls have provided, to meet the innumerable trials, dangers and hardship that lie in the years ahead. But we go to meet them as Catholic men and women, sure of our faith, ready to live as we have learned. In these four years we have learned the Benedictine life, and way, the Benedictine family ideal and it formed the bed-rock upon which stone upon stone of our studies and activities have been laid. These years have been an important part of our life. They are irreplacable. Never again can we do the things we have done here. Never again can we see or hear the things we have seen and heard here, never aga feel as we have felt, a part of Lillis pulling with all our heart and soul to win that game in those final desparate minutes and seconds. We can call to mind the memories, but as time passes, the distinct- ness of these images will fade and thoughts of high school days will bring but a warm feeling inside. Contained herein is but a brief history of this final year. As we leaf through the pages, we can recall the steadfast friends we are leaving here, who will be ever ready to see and hear from us, to whom we have always turned with each problem that came along. We leave them with a warm prayer of thanks and love. But now a phase of our life is ended. We will never again be able to regain it. Time is forever moving on and with it we must also go. Whether it is college, work or a family for which we are headed, we must be pre- pared to do the best with it. It is time now, not to look back, but ahead. We have been armed to meet what lies ahead. We are leaving now, but we’ll be back...sometime! FAREWELL. CJ!m o - ’5-3
