'Dedication No other pontifical leader of recent times has displayed the spirit of self-sacrifice; no other Vicar has been so close to the hearts of his people as Pius XII. While war threatened, he devoted all his efforts to warding off the disaster. While conflict raged, he labored to ease its pains and consequences. When hostilities finally ceased, he began a never-ending quest for lasting peace. In this Holy Year of Jubilee he has but one self-abnegating desire: that the people of the world may by prayer and penance reform their lives and acquire Christian virtue. With prayerful and fervent desire that this Jubilee will prepare a general and universal return to Christ, do we dedicate this seventh edition of the LILLISLOG to Our Holy Father. 3

Eleven years filled with joyful, zealous labors for His Church have passed since His Excellency, the Most Reverend Edwin V. O'Hara, became Bishop of Kansas City. One of Bishop O'Hara s greatest achievements has been his generous contribution to and keen interest in the growth and development of the diocesan educational system. But Lillis High School is more than just a ''project on which Bishop O'Hara has worked. After only 7 commencement exercises, its graduates living and working in the world of today are the fulfillment of a long-cherished dream. These graduates, as Lillis students, felt often in many ways the bishop's close personal interest in them and their school. They saw him at their pep rallies, in their halls and classrooms and cafeteria, at their programs and assemblies. They cherished his pastoral care and advice, his solicitude for their progress and well-being. In the name of all Lillis alumni and students, the Class of 1950 wishes to pay tribute to His Excellency, Bishop O'Hara, and to extend to him their prayers and best wishes that his joy may be full in this Holy Year of 1950. 5
