Wortman Assistant Superintendent-Instruction The Superintendent is the executive officer of the Board of Education, serving as Secretary to the Board. He carries out and supervises the policies established by the Board of Education, recommends candidates for employment, pre- pares the budget for approval and directs all expenditures. The Assistant Superintendent is directly responsible to the superintendent and assists him in carrying out all duties. The Assistant Superintendent for Business is in charge of all financial and business operations, including trans- portation and school plans. 4's 8 2 The Assistant Superintendent for Federal programs functions as the liaison between the county and the federal R.
