Our first eight years were spent in preparing us for our four wonderful years in high school. We were thoroughly divided during our Freshman year. We branched out to suit better our individual interests. We w-ere given the choice of three different elective subjects., Those boys who were interested in Agri- culture trouped off to the Ag. Building with Mr. Blackmon as their sponsor. Those girls more interested in domestic work went to the Home Ec. Lab and were sponsored by Miss Kernoodle. The remaining boys and girls who were more interested in other fields of work chose Science as their elective and were sponsored by Mrs. Walker. We were together in spirit although we were divided physically. Each of us rejoiced when Mrs. Wal- ker's section of the freshmen class, our freshmen class, won first prize in Stunt Night. How pleased we were to be back together again as Sophomores. We were just that much nearer to our goal. We really felt that we could begin functioning as a class again. We were exceedingly proud to see members of our class obtain positions on the Lillingtonian and Footprints Staffs. the basketball and baseball teams, and become members of the Beta Club. We continued to climb ever upward and the next year found us Juniors. We were extremely fortunate to have Mrs. O'Quinn, our Sophomore sponsor, as our Junior sponsor also. She was always looking out for our best interests and giving us a push when one was needed. We really worked like so many busy bees that year. We all enjoyed our Junior Play. The Banquet was ample reward for all our hard work which preceded the great occasion when we said goodbye to our friends and classmates. the Seniors of '50. With the close of graduation in 1950, there was a vacant space at the top of the ladder we were climbing. With great expectations and shining hopes, we stepped into the position of Seniors. When that day in May comes when figures clad in grey robes cross the stage for the last time as a class, we can receive our diplomas with the assurance that ours has been a full and completely happy school life together.
