SENIOR CLASS HISTORY Our class really got its start in the eighth grade when the young people from Bunnlevel came up. We were treated like Freshmen because it was one of those odd years when the 12th grade was being put in and one clasps was missing. I'm sure you're confused at this point, but, at any rate, we were changing classes, and having different teachers, and enrolling new students, and really feeling quite important. Miss Kearns, who was the commercial teacher at that time, was our class sponsor, and we thought she.was fine. It didn't take us long to discover that intellectual ability, musical talent, and interesting personalities of all types had come to us en massa on those busses from Bunnlevel, and we were all glad that we wereTnembers of the class of '5O. The next year, to our delight, we found that we could choose one elective subject. Some of the boys hurried out toward the Ag building, and their duties and trials as green-hands. Mr. Blackman was their class sponsor, as well as their Ag teacher and they got along famously. Some of the girls, feeling more vine-covered cottage-ly inclined, trouped off to the Home Ec Lab with Miss Kernoodle their classiponsor. The boys and girls who were looking forward to professional futures chose general science as their elective, and went to Mrs. Walker's home room. We felt a little handicapped that year by our divisions and were able to do few things as a class, but most of us were together each day in Mrs. Walker's English and algebra classes, and never once was our unity completely severed. At lastl We were Sophomores and back together again. Mrs. O'Quinn was our sponsor, and noting that we were strong and raring to go, we really felt a part of things. We took an active part in all school activities, and were voted the outstanding class of the year. We were, indeed, proud of this in our second year, and determined to uphold the name we had made for ourselves. Graduation night in 1949 our class came running up to cross swords for the departing seniors. We were dressed in white and looked our best, but we were out of breath. What a year! Miss Creasman was our junior sponsor, and the year had been one of the best! Our new gym was being completed, school spirit was rising to a new high, and we discovered star athletes among the members of the junior class. We chose several projects to finance the banquet and dance which we planned to have for the seniors in the spring, and worked away like so many beavers. We began work on our play, Saved By The Belle and had fun and gained profitable experience which will never be forgotten. The actual banquet preparation was an endless task and we worked together as one. Our class was well represented in all the school clubs, on the annual staff, the paper staff, and in musical and dramatic productions. We had truly been busy, and loved every minute of it. Our part in graduation was a delightful climax. Miss Creasman came up with us our senior year, and was the same grand sponsor as always. School had scarcely begun before we began planning and working toward our graduation. As usual we were out front in school acti- vities and constantly working to maintain the wonderful class spirit we had exhibited through the years. Examinations came and went and each of us breathed a sigh of relief. The class which had always pulled together would graduate as a whole. As we leave with regret, and venture forth with hopeful anticipation, we leave with you this thought which has made our past bright and our future promising: 'Never one thing and seldom one person can make for a success. It takes a number of them merging into one perfect whole.'
