Jim and Vladi select a favorite. I was quite surprised whenlfound Amer- icans driving on the wrong side of the road. This was V1adi's first impression of Amery ica w h e n h e arrived from Mount Maungunai, New Zealand. Vladi adapted very well to the American way of life. American schools appeal to him because students aren't required to wear uniforms and there is no corporal punishment. But Vladi does suggest unsupervised study halls for seniors, as at home. His favorite foods here in America are pizza and other Italian Dishes. Pizza isn't very popular in New Zealand. Back home Vladi lettered in Rugby and here, at Ligonier, he was a member of the foot- ball squad. When Vladi returns home, he will finish college, the equivalent of A m e r ic an high Schools, and then go on to the University. He an- ticipates a career in the diplomatic field. When Vladi leaves Ligonier, he will leave m any friends. We only hope he enjoyed America as much as we enjoyed him. Vladimir H artevelt 7' if Jim explained the rudiments of football before Vladi joined the team. A V. At home, Vladi surfs year round
