06Llf'6! of gyncafion iXewlin. SEHUUL RIREETURS FREE W!-XRTIME PROGRAM XVe point with pride to these public spirited men who. faced with the great problem of directing the education of our youth, have proved to be wise. tolerant. and progressive. It is largely through their efforts, and due to their intense interest. that the Nlountaineers will in the near future boast of a modern recreational field with baseball diamond. football field. tennis courts. and track course. In tact. they have already entered into contract with B. Ferrari of Latrobe for the grading of the entire thirteen acres which were generously deeded to L. H. by the Byers-Tosh Post of the American Legion, The vvork will begin this spring as soon as the weather permits. Our Board of Education is also responsible for the cheery note lent by the fresh coats of paint on the exteriors of both the Grade School and High School buildings and in the hall of the High School. Then too, we were very glad to welcome a new slide machine which has made more enjoyable many phases of our studies. Of course. the members of the Board have many other tasks. routine and unspectacular but important, which claim their atten- tion: such as coping with the difficult situation of filling positions in these times when labor is at a premium. VVe of Ligonier High realize our good fortune in having the valuable guidance of these five men and take this opportunity to express to them our appreciation for their admirable service to the school and to the community.
