.-- ■■■■••I ' ¥t 5... :::i;V; I ilV s Iii ' € si v Carry On 19G7 We present to you . . . The EXHUIDED t ap ' In Dedication . . . Rev. Donald R. Pickenll Donnie Ray ' — 1 yr High School Grad. It is with great honor that we dedicate the 1967 Carry On to a man of high esteem — Rev. Pickerill. He was born and raised in Parsons, Kansas. In 1946 he joined the Navy, and served there for two years. Some of the colleges which he attended include: Parsons Jr. College, Pittsburg Teachers College, LIFE Bible College, Pasadena College, Fuller Seminary, BIOLA, Pepperdine, Hebrew University, and Southern Calif. In 1954 he received his B.A., and in 1958, his M.A., both from Pasadena College. He is a man deeply loved and respected by all, as a friend, counselor, and instructor, but most important, as a man of God. Rev. Don Pickerill 1967, Age?? In the Navy ot age 18 Faculty and Staff Aimee Qemple McPherson L.I.F.E. Bible College stands today as a living monument to the faith, courage and vision of our Founder — Aimee Semple McPher- son. In the life of this humble servant of God, the world is afforded a glimpse of what God can do through a yielded servant of His. Setting herself aside for the work of the Lord at the youthful age of seventeen, and continuing in the service of the King until the day of her promotion to glory, Aimee Semple McPherson preached the Gospel in all its fullness throughout the entire world. Truly it can be said that since our Founder passed on to her reward we have seen the Lord high and lifted up through the ministry of our President — Dr. Rolf K. McPherson. We have seen, under his administration, even a greater growth and expansion in the field of Christian Education. We have seen hundreds consecrate their lives to proclaim the Gospel of Christ around the world. Truly our changeless Christ is still in our midst, and through the consecration of our President, leads us on the glorious road to victory. - Dr. Rolf K. Student Body to Hect New Officers student leadership here at LIFE is about to receive its regular semester surge of new leadership blood. The trans- fusion will come Friday, January 13 for Day school, and the following week for Night , as Student Body leaders aro chosen at special election assemblies. A total of twenty-two students have been selected as candidates for Student Body offices and will be presented to the Student Body electorate for its mer- ited decision. Voting will be done on a new form of ballot, this .vear showing the pictures of the candidates, as well as listing his home town. The winners will become the Student leaders for the upcoming Spring semes ter. Among their first duties will be to plan and present a luncheon in honor of the Spring semester class officers who com- prise the Student Councils. In addition to the regular chapel ser- vices and planning the officers are faced with the task of leading in the planning of the Annual School Picnic. This festive event is held each year in May and is the largest attended school function. The elections, then, plainly should be more than a popularity poll. The po- sitions of the new leaders, beside honor and respect, will be ones of leadership and duty. To them fall the responsibilities of being leaders spiritually, scholaistically, and socially. 72 AUTUMN ENCORE Something new has been added to our Fall program. Qwan 9ong SwanSong is a term used for a last outburst of energy, based on the oncient belief that just before its death the swan, unable to sing all its life, utters one melodious song, in this case, I am the swan! The Carry On has gone to the press and I cannot repress the song that comes to my lips. Yes, it has been a lot of hard work . . . but when I think of the Ideals of the college which the Carry On portrays for lasting retrospection, this is the least I can do to help uphold these Ideals. Many thanks to our cooperative staff and to others not on the staff who helped put this book together. They really worked hard. Louise Blaskowsky Co-Edifors Have you ever stood on the foot of a high hill and seen how steep it looked, how long, how hard to climb. But as you traveled upwards it seemed to straighten out and you got to the top thinking it wasn ' t such a hard road after all? Such has been my experience in working on the annual. It has been lots of fun as well as hard work, but very rewarding. I wish to give a big thank you to each member of the staff for their hard work and coop- eration. May this annual hold fond memories for each of you, not only for the fun and activities, but spiritually. Marilyn A Shalla 135 Advertisements We are at the end of the book and at the end of the year.
