of away! A Dear Fellow Students, we came back to Jacktown Hi on Sept. 4th. A new supt., prin., and home ec. teacher greeted us. fWe welcomed a new music-commer- cial teacher in November.J Our football team Cunder Coach Robert Hullb practiced on the field and commenced to enthusiasm by winning games and capturing Championship title. Kirk, Etna and Alex visited H-T, Romer and Banquet was held for show their all of our the 6-Man We played here and Summit. A the boys Nov. 50 in the school building. The girls are determined to show their patriotism for the school by earning a NJN. They were organized in 1942 as the Girls' Recreation Association and are still active. The older mem- bers initiated some new recruits in Oct. They took turns serving refreshments, furnishing enter- tainment and being guests for their monthly meetings. After examining and rating the work of English students, the teachers announced the Bulletin Staff. Parties still rate high and the Sophomores started the idea rolling by having an enjoyable weiner roast in an indoor fire- place when the rain chased them from an outdoor site. Not to be outdone by the other classes, the Seniors went to Ye Olde Mill at Utica for a weiner roast and skating party. A few tried some floor-cleaning antics but as a whole everyone rated an HAH for ability. The eighth graders still prefer a picnic party and had one at the Harbor Hills Club- house. The band sponsored a box social in the gym to raise funds for additional instruments. We had our annual Hallowe'en Carni- val October 51. We enjoyed a memorable Armis- tice Day assembly with our Prin. Mr. Kinner CLt. in World War ID and Russell Prince lSgt. in World war III explaining their inter- pretation of the American flag. Hanover-Toboso presented an enjoyable program for our school. The Jr. class presented, nAct Your Ageu Dec. 7 at 8:00 P. M. Our basketball team played St. Francis, Alex, Utica, Granville, H-T, Hebron and Hartford here. They visited Etna, Hebron, Kirk, St. Francis and Utica. Mr. Kinner and the Sr. class journeyed to Columbus Oct. 26 for the camera-breaking trip. After this they visited the Pen and the AIU Tower. Everyone loves vacations from school. We were dismissed for a LCT meeting, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Washington's Birthday and Good Friday. The General Business class be- gan a school bank in November. The Junior class rings arrived in January. Our Bulletin Editor was ap- pointed to serve as assistant editor of the Lickingana. The Bulletin Staff decided to our school paper from a change weekly to a monthly publication. The Diphtheria Immunization was given pupils in grades 1-6. The various classes and or- ganizations had their pictures taken February 8. The music groups presented a musicale March 8. We presented a musical program at Utica High School in March. The Junior-Senior Banquet was held April 12. The Senior class presented their play in May. Student Council members this year were Harold Shaw lSr.J and Harold Eagle KJr.J. Elizabeth Deck, Ellen Gorley and Robert Prince lSrs.J and Mar- jorie Jones lJr.j represented our school in the Honor Society. Our cheerleaders were Eliza- beth Deck fSr.J, Ruby Lane CSoph.l, Carol Griffith and Bon- nie Mitchell CFr.J. Baccalaurate, May 19 and Com- mencement, May 21 ended the Srs. school life at JHS.
