IHMNN VIN This ls Station SHS bringing you news and notes on Summit High activities. Our new teachers are Mr. Cobb, superintendentg Mr. Kohler, principalg and Mrs. Wood- ruff, commercial. Our capable faculty, with the coBperation of the students, has set up a new standard of scholarship. A series of Lyceum Lectures has been given in behalf of our althetic groups. The proceeds will be used to improve our sports equipment. We did not win honors in sports this year, but we did create character and sportsmanship. At a number of assemblies our GiPl8' Glee Club and the Choir exhibited their musical talents. Alexandria presented an assembly program at Summit on March 15, and in exchange we gave a similar program at Granville on April 22. Our Music Department also performed for P.T.A. through- out the year. Summit was well-represented at the Annual Spring Festimi with ll members in the All-County Chorus and 2 members in the A11- County Band. The main event of the year, according to the Freshman Class, was their initiation ceremony, October ls, ably conducted by the Seniors. Such tests of a stu- dentfs 'bravery and fortitude had never before been encountered until that night. They also had several entertaining class parties. The football homecoming dance on November l, sponsored by the Sophomore Class, was the highlight of the term for themg the queen and her attendants were presented at intermission. The first of several success- ful dances, was sponsored by the Junior Class on October 4. Their play, CAMPUS QUARANTINE, a riot of laughs and funny situations, presented on November 17, was their crowning achievement. They also entertained the Seniors grandly at the annual Jr.-Sr. Banquet on April 27. On January 16, the Seniors took their annual trip to Colum- bus to have class pictures taken. They saw many interesting and historical sights, often missed on just a casual trip. ' Finally on March 16, the Seniors, masters of theatrki art, threw their dignity to the winds and presented a mystery- comedy, THE HAUNTED HIGH SCHOOL, a play full of nerve-tingling thrills and spine-tingling chile. On May 12 solemnity prevaned at our Baccalaureate Service and on May 17, the Seniors, looking most decorous in their caps and gowns, bade us goodbye at Commencement Exercises. This is Station SHS telling you to tune in again next year--- same time, same place. This page sponsored by William L. Shadwick, Su mit Station, Ohio 25
