A variety ot sports is ottered to girls participating in this program. They are given a chance to play team sports as well as to tale part in individual ac- tivities. Each girl belonging to G.A.A. must tultill certain standards set up by the organiza- tion. G.A.A. began the tall season with speedball, soccer, tennis, and bowling. During September, Warren held a play day which Libertyville at- tended. The girls trorn each school participated in the above sports. Also in September. each treshman girl was introduced to G.A.A. by her Big Sister. This took place during the Big and Little Sister Party, where games were played and retreshments served. l-lomecoming also talls in this tall season. JANUARY 3-The student body was stunned to hear ot the tragic accident which occurred during the holidays. Two ot our tellow students, l-lenry Stettan, a senior, Iver McKinney, a sophomore, and Wayne Schultz, ot the class ot '52. were killed in an automobile accident. 5-The school year marches on as we come back to school atter our vacation. An assembly was presented by Manette and Maurice Davis, who pertormed in a trampaline and bicycle act. Walker Gil- mer and Charlie Buttertield assisted the pertormance by sailing around the gym tloor on a midget bike. Other Students also tried the trampaline. 9-We senior girls were biting our nails when we had tryouts tor the senior play. lo-Following the Barrington game twhich we lostl the Library Club sponsored an atter-game dance highlighted by a cake walk. Many de- 'ighted shrieks were heard when winners picked their cakes. I7-The L Club had a roast beet dinner. lFood seems to be one ot' their tavorite indoor sportsl Mr. Muckle addressed the group at this meeting. 20-Our halls were a bit empty when President Eisenhower was inaugurated. lt seems that Mary Davis and the Williams twins had practically the whole school at their homes to watch the attair. l'm sure this is one student body that agrees with the people who think inauguration day should be a national holiday. 22, 23- Oh, l'll never be able to memorize all that English. l can't even remember Shakespeare trom Milton! You've guessed it . . . semester exams. Now the teachers can tind out the culprits who have been sleeping through classes during the tirst semester. 24-The old gym looked good enough to eat when the iuniors gave their dance Candy Capers . ln tact, the candy suckers hanging on a tree were very edible. Just ask anyone who went to the dance. 28-Why are so many walking around as though they were going to break in two? One ot these girls will be chosen to tour in Europe. VVe are very tortunate to have an exchange student. Esko tctaraiaama this year.
