BY HELEN BECHSTEIN We as Seniors viewed our-graduation as a dream. How could Time have slipped by so swiftly and taken with it our school days? We woke with a start and realized that we were Seniors---we, who four short years ago entered high school. Then graduation seemed to be only a mist in a hazy far-away future. Now we know it was our awakening, We were Freshmen--yes, 22 of us. To upper classmen we were probably 22 headaches, but oh, how proud we were of ourselves! The members of the class that moved, withdrew from school, or fell behind were: James Inebnit, Cloyce Hedges, Gene Vanscoder, Bob Haas, Florine Parker, Violina Lobdell, and Berton Eckert. New students in our class were: Rena Wagner, June Haylett, Gene Beckford, and Sylvia Mantel. President - Jacqueline Burdock Vice President - Evelyn Woessner Secretary and Treasurere- June Haylett The following year found our class slightly diminished in number, but not in zeal. The members which moved away from school were: Gene Beckford, Wanda Priest, and Vera Palmerton. The one new member in our class was Jack Warner. During the summer we were very sorry to hear of the loss of a very close classmate, George Potter, who had a very pleasing personality and many friends. We elected the following officers: President - Hugh Sheline Vice President - Tom Thompson Secretary and Treasurer - Jack Warner As Juniors we numbered 25. Having been knocked around by our upper classmen for two years at last, as Juniors, we were determined to make a name for ourselves, and we did. As Juniors we found many new responsibilities awaiting for us. In our class some of the individuals were out- standing in sports, others in music, while our pride in Dramatics laid in our Junior Play, WDead of the Nightn under the direction of Mrs. Johnson. We honored the departing Senior class with a formal banquet held at the Women's Club. We enjoyed dancing and other entertainment afterwards at the University Recreation Hall. A navy theme was carried throughout the evening, New students in our class wereg Lois Turner from California, Wanda Priest returning from Portage, John Stimmel and Bill Strausbaugh from the upper class. ...I ,
