violin am: $ttiugw Zingttummta. PROF. PETER KAIRSGAARD, Teacher. We congratulate ourselves on being able to secure for another year the services of Prof. Peter Karsgaard, with whom our pupils last year were delighted. Owing to our nearness to a large city, we are enabled to offer in this de- partment what schools at a distance cannot procure, except at great cost, making the price for the pupil for violin in- struction much higher than what we offer. Prof. Kars- gaard receives in Kansas City two dollars per lesson. We offer to our pupils the same instruction for sixty dollars for the entire school year, two lessons per week. Prof. Karsgaard studied for a number of years with the masters of the Old World, among whom were F. Hilmar, who for twenty years was Concertmeister, Royal Chappel, Copenhagen; and H. Leonard, Paris, France. After coming to this country Prof. Karsgaard won for himself a high place among Violinists. His tone is llbigf, llsweetli and singing; his intonation correct; his playing is sympathetic and artistic. -CINCINNATI COMMERCIAL GAZETTE. He played the Mendelssohn. Concerto with a dash and freedom of style not often heard. -CHICAGO TRIBUNE. His tone is lipuref, sweet and large, his playing of the Bruch Concerto proved him to be an artist in the highest sense of the word. eNEw YORK HERALD. Peter Karsgaard has been weighed in the balance and foqnd not wanting. We have given him a good test and he has stood it well. He has followed Remenyi without loss of prestige-j-thetompanson has not been unfavorable. Peter Karsgaard is a v1011nist of great merit. Peter Karsgaard is a native of Denmark, where he received his first instruction on the violin. His studious hablts anti the excellent opportunity with the European art has made him the pqlished rnusmian that he is today. He is one of oqr foremost v1011nlsts, being well known throughout Europe and America: With all due respect. we can say Mr. Karsgaard ranks with the best in hIS professmn. While he 15 a good performer, he is also a.good teacher. Those who were for- tunate enough to hear his pupils rec1tal, given at. the Y. M. C. A. Auditorium had this to say: His pupils play like artists, not like pupils. , -DES MOINES MAIL AND TIMES.

Qttt. MISS NELLIE M. FISHER, Teacher. Miss Fisher is a graduate of two of the principal, schools of oratory in this country, namely: Columbia School of Oratory, Chicago, 111., and Emerson College of Oratory, Boston, Mass. While in Boston, Miss Fisher finished a two years course in Swedish Gymnastics at the Baroness Possi Gymnasium. She comes to us highly rec- ommended. I gladly recommend Miss Nellie M. Fisher as a teacher of elocu- tion and physical culture and as a public reader. Miss Fisher is a young woman of strong physique, good mind, sunny disposition and helpful spirit. As a teacher she is earnest, thorough, resourceful and enthusiastic; one who will win and retain the love of her pupils and the respect of her co-workers. As a reader, Miss Fisher comes before her audiences with so pleasing a personality and so much of life and certainty that she in- spires confidence before she opens her lips. Her rich, well-modulated voice and responsive body, her fine appreciation and entire naturalness, her dramatic power and her keen sense of humor make her reading a delight to all. tSignedi MARY A. BLOOD, July 11, 1903. Principal Columbia School of Oratory, C hicago, I lh'nois. ttThis is to say that an evening with Miss Fisher is perfectly delightful; a joyous remembrance. She has the soul of an orator and IS master of the art. She plays upon the strings of the heart as the masters upon their instruments of music. Everythlng 1s real? REV. D. A. ALLEN, Pastor M. E. Church, Dunlap, Iowa. A large and enthusiastic audience greeted Miss Fisher last even- ing at the high school, and all present were greatly pleased Wlth the entertainment. Miss Fisher has rare elocutionary powers and W111 be assured of a rousing reception should she consent to give another recital. --MOORHEAD DAILY NEWS. Miss Nellie Fisher this week accepted a position at Moorhead, Mm- nesota, as teacher of elocution and physical culture 1n the hlgh school in that city. A better selection could not have been made. MISS Nellie has studied for the past three years and graduated w1th. honors, and is one of the finest readers we have ever heard.
