violin am: $ttiugw Zingttummta. PROF. PETER KAIRSGAARD, Teacher. We congratulate ourselves on being able to secure for another year the services of Prof. Peter Karsgaard, with whom our pupils last year were delighted. Owing to our nearness to a large city, we are enabled to offer in this de- partment what schools at a distance cannot procure, except at great cost, making the price for the pupil for violin in- struction much higher than what we offer. Prof. Kars- gaard receives in Kansas City two dollars per lesson. We offer to our pupils the same instruction for sixty dollars for the entire school year, two lessons per week. Prof. Karsgaard studied for a number of years with the masters of the Old World, among whom were F. Hilmar, who for twenty years was Concertmeister, Royal Chappel, Copenhagen; and H. Leonard, Paris, France. After coming to this country Prof. Karsgaard won for himself a high place among Violinists. His tone is llbigf, llsweetli and singing; his intonation correct; his playing is sympathetic and artistic. -CINCINNATI COMMERCIAL GAZETTE. He played the Mendelssohn. Concerto with a dash and freedom of style not often heard. -CHICAGO TRIBUNE. His tone is lipuref, sweet and large, his playing of the Bruch Concerto proved him to be an artist in the highest sense of the word. eNEw YORK HERALD. Peter Karsgaard has been weighed in the balance and foqnd not wanting. We have given him a good test and he has stood it well.
