THE LIBERTY TORCH We gave our Semor class play on October 23 wh1ch was ent1t1ed Take Your Medlclne under the d1rect1on of Mrs Nelle Mulhns and Mr Derv1n Garr1son All of our class members were m the play wmth Bernard Conrad as announcer On November 10 we enjoyed a supper at Doc s Arrpark at West Qu1ncy Followlng the supper we attended the movle at the State Theater Our class was aga1n represented at the FHA Chrxstmas Ball on December 16 w1th Pa tr1c1a Clark crowned as Queen and Donald Mowen as Kmng Norma Rae Longlett and Larry Bunte were the Sen1or attendants The Semor class presented an assembly on December Z3 before the student body and faculty The assembly was 1n form of a te1ev1s1on program wxth Jerry Qu1ncy as Master of Ceremomes An exchange of g1fts was held after the program On January 20 our class sponsored a skatmg party at Scott1e's Roller R1nk On March 12 we attended the Ice Capades 1n St Lou1s Our class attended the annual Semor Guest Day at Western 1ll1no1s State College mn Macomb on March 17 The motto chosen by our class was To1l Conquers A11 Thlngs The colors of our class were green and wh1te Our class flowers were green and whlte carnatlons The Senrors were guests of the Alumm Assoc1at1on at the Alumm Banquet on May 13 On May 19 the Sen1or class had a party at the home of our Sponsor Mrs Nelle Mulhns After supper we attended the show at the Washxngton Theater Baccalaureate serv1ces were held on May Z3 wmth the Reverend Robert Nelson pastor of the Z1on Lutheran Church as our speaker Commencement exe rc1ses were held 1n the Alumm Gymnasmm on May 26 1954 The Reverend Rxchard Ingle pastor of the Congregatlonal Church 1n Qumcy was the speaker for graduatmon The Semors on the Natxonal Honor Socmety are Marcella Kaltenbach Patrlcma Clark R1ta Rossm111er Norma Rae Longlett ZZ . . . Semor Tr1p An Exc1t1ng Event L1berty May 26 The Sen1or Class of L1berty Hrgh School returned from thelr class tr1p Wednesday morrung a httle txred but full of lastrng memorxes of an exc1t1ng V1S1t to St Louxs and Pere Marquette State Park Seventeen Senxors Mrs Mullms Mr Garr1son and Mr and Mrs Herbert Ogle boarded the bus Monday mormng at 6 OO and arr1ved at the state park to check 1n and have lunch They traveled to St Lou1s 1n the afternoon for shoppmg movles and a ball game and returned to Pere Marquette early the followmg mornmg Tuesday was spent 1n h1k1ng rowmg swrmmmg playmg shuffleboard and many other fun packed act1v1t1es Several honors were bestowed to the followmg actlve part1c1pants Wayne Moore Teddy Rexch Mr Ogle Mr Garrxson Dlck Tenhouse Marcella Kaltenbach Bernard Conrad Ken Leapley and Wayne Donna Gr1ff1n Pat Clark.
