THE LIBERTY TORCH The Jun1or class served as waitresses and waiters at the Alumn1 Banquet on May 14 On May Zl we sponsored the Junior Senior Banquet and Prom The theme was Har bor Lights The gym was beautifully decorated with a sea shore at one end and a light house on the other side of the gym containing a beacon light in the top of the light house Music for the evening was provided by Charles Winking and his orchestra They played on the deck of the beautiful ship U S S Seniors The prom proved to be a great suc CCSS Our class was in charge of the decoration for Baccalaureate and Commencement and also served as ushers Rita Rossmiller was the honor student for the year Pat Clark and Alberta Neisen re presented the cheerleading section for our class Rita Rossmiller and Norma Rae Longlett were selected as the two Junior members of the National Honor Society SE NIOR YEAR As the 1953 54 school term opened Liberty High School was blessed with the enroll ment of seventeen fine Seniors They were Bertha Allison Larry Bunte Jack Burton Joyce Chase Patricia Clark Elaine Cutforth Donna Griffin Donna Sue Hipkins Mar cella Kaltenbach Kenneth Leapley Norma Rae Longlett Wayne Moore Donald Mowen ison married and moved to Colorado leaving our class with an enrollment of sixteen Later in the year we gained two more students They were Bernard Conrad who trans ferred from Hannibal High School and Don Jingst who transferred from Warsaw I-hgh School which gave our class an enrollment of eighteen Our officers for 1953 54 were President Jack Burton V1ce Pres1dent Patricia Clark Secretary Reporter Donna Sue Hipkins Treasurer Rita Rossmiller Student Council Representatives Norma Rae Longlett Jerry Quincy and Bertha Allison who was later replaced by Donna Gr1ff1n Our sponsor was Mr Nelle Orr Mullins Our faculty consisted of Mr W1lsonO Neubauer Superintendent Mrs NelleO Mul lins Miss Pauline Carwell M1ssEstherM Reid Miss Gladys Jensen Mr Jarnes Fouts Mr Dervin Garrison Mr C A Gamble Mr Dean Sims and Mr Albert Whit more On October 6 we had our senior pictures taken 21 ' H ' ' ' Jerry Quincy, Teddy Reich, Rita Rossmiller, Dick Tenhouse.
