Mrs Harold Turner A popular place, made possible under the new building program of 1949, is the school cafeteria, managed by Mrs. Harold Turner. It is second to none in this part of the state. It has a seating capacity of 200 students and is furnished with the most modern equipment. The cafeteria is approved by the state for serving a class A luncheon, which will provide from one-third to one-half of a student's daily nutritional requirements. The number of lunches served has averaged about 550 a day. The cafeteria is able to serve an excellent lunch at the low price of Sl a week because the state furnishes a subsidy of seven cents for each lunch with milk, and five cents for a lunch without the milk. In addition to the subsidy, the federal government donates some surplus commodities which enrich the school lunches without adding anything to their cost. The cafeteria has operated on the principle that it has an educational as well as a nutritional duty to perform. An attempt has been made to teach children to eat a wider variety of wholesome food than they might have learned to eat at home. Their parents have generally appreciated the more universal tastes that the cafeteria has developed. Qfelfecda . . , -if Page Fourteen li'-
