Secretary, 'lhercsa XYittiuan. lrtasurer SODALYTY Personal sanctihcation is the immediate aim of Ursuline's Sodalitv of Our l,ady and each girl who claims membership has opportunities for the furtltcrance of this purpose. She takes part in all the activities of the sodalitv as well as those of her committee which has been created to advocate one special phase ot' apostolic work. Sanctitication of ones self is not, however. the sole purpose of the sodality. lfach sodalist does all in her power to bring others under the influence ot' her good example as a Child of Nlarv. She also does her part to defend her liaith in any wav possible, STUDENT'COUNCH- The Student Government has proved to lie a most democratic organization. The students themselves choose their representatives and these members carry back to their meetings the students suggestions. A discussion is held and with the vote of all students. the plans are carried out. The Student Council is to he particularly congratulated for its huge successes in the sale of XVar Bonds and Stamps and the formation of the Red Cross Chapter. Then the Drainatics Club will welcome you and appease Your Uliootlight fever by teaching you the tra- ditions of the stage. The Ursuline girl is given a well-rounded training in histrionics. She learns the art of applying malce-up and the use of correct speech arid proper gestures, By participation in plays and declamatitin contests she gains poise and conhdence, lhe Dramatics Club promises a training that will carry over into later life, Although all its members may not become great actresses, they will of necessity form the ideal audience of the theatre of tomorrow. ART An education could hardly be termed com- plete without some training in the principles of Art, VVith this in mind ot1r Art Studio was begun and continues in this same spirit today, The courses offered to the girls haye been arranged to give the student a good training and background for future study. There are classes in Interior Decorating, clay modeling and gen- eral art, which includes sketching pastels, and Water and oil painting. Brushes are applied to palette busily. oliten with an eye toward a contest or exhibition.
