OMR AQTIIWIITIIIES Twenty-two MV URS UIILIINIE Extra-curricular activities form an essential part of school life. They are perhaps equally as important as classes and study. For the purpose of high-school life is not so much to impart knowledge as to develop character. And it is the school activities that develops some of the most significant of the many features of character. Activities broaden the mind, they bring the stu- dent into contact with new ideas, and they help her to become acquainted with her fellow students in a more intimate manner than class work alone would permit. They reveal latent talents, they assist the growth of those abilities so vital to leadership, they teach good sportsmanship, and they inculcate the value of teamwork. And, finally, in addition to providing a welcome relief from the hum-drum occupations of the class- room, it is the extra-curricular activities which awaken that interest in the school and its success which we know as school spirit.
