JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY President Mabel LuSt Vice President Glenn Lahman Secretary Margorie Walker Treasurer Miriam Lutz Council Member Robert Wentz Advisor Mr Griffith Proudly they began their school days as upper classmen ln 1941 with an enrollment of twenty three members The a In September, 1938, twenty four Freshmen began their four year term in high school At the flrst class meetlng, the followlng officers were elected President, Robert Wentz, Vice Presldent, Harlan Leimenstoll, Secretary, Glenn Lahman, Treasurer, Junior Miller, Councll Member, Eloise Musser, News Reporter, Mabel Lust Their class advlsor, Miss Mary Wiseman, accepted another position and Miss Helen Love was then appointed to succeed her As Freshmen the group had new privileges, such as the lnitiation fwas that a priv1lege9J, the right to hold OUtS1d8 get to gethersand the annual Freshmen and Sophomore Party At the beginnlng of thelr Sophomore year the class roll numbered twenty one w1th Miss Kathryn Gearhart as advlsor The officers for the year were President,Harlan Lelmonstall, Vice President, Glenn Lahman, Secretary, Mabel Lust, Trea surer, Robert Wentz, Council Member, Margle Walker, News Reporter, Miriam Lutz The class entert ined the Freshmen at the main social event of the year The theme of a ClPCuS was cleverly carrled out ln decorations, refreshments and entertainment Early 1n the school year as Juniors,the class presldent Mabel Lust, represented the school in the County Corn Fes tival as Miss Holmes Liberty During the year and at the County tournament, the class sold candy and ice cream in order to enlarge the balance in their treasury In February, the girls won the inter class basketball tournament, winning all the games that they play The two highlights of the Junior year were the Class play, UThe Crazy Smith Family , presented November 27, and the Junior Senior Reception at Hotel Harding in Marion, Aprll 25 A clever theme was carried out and following the dinner and programme, the group enjoyed dancing Though the class regrets passing their cherished name of nJuniorsn on to the Sophomores, they are tremendously proud to recelve the name of nSeniors H bove officers were chosen for this important year. ed.
